Beef Curry With Cheese Corn Bread Topper

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 Clove garlic -- minced
  • 1 1/2 pound boneless beef -- diced
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Curry Powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium apple -- peeled and sliced
  • 10 ounces Frozen Peas And Carrots -- thawed
  • 10 ounces Corn Bread Mix
  • 4 ounces Cheddar Cheese -- cubed


First of all melt butter in large skillet over medium heat; saute onion and garlic until tender. And then add meat and brown. Next is to blend curry powder and salt into 1 1/2 cups water; add to skillet along with raisins.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until meat is tender. Blend flour in 1/4 cup water until smooth. Gradually stir into meat mixture.Bring to boiling point, stirring constantly. Add apple. Turn into 2 quart casserole. Arrange peas and carrots over meat mixture.
Prepare corn bread according to package directions. Fold Cheddar cheese cubes into batter. Spread over top of casserole or arrange batter to make strips across casserole. Bake in preheated 425F degree oven, 12-15 minutes. The beef curry recipe is ready for feast ! Tasty indeed ! Enjoy it !




  • 2 lbs. lean beef, cubed

  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • 1 chopped raw onion
  • 2 tsp. salt

Dredge meat in flour and brown on all sides in hot oil. Add onions to skillet, saute a few minutes but do not brown. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. For a mild curry, decrease amount of curry powder used. For a hot curry, increase the amount. Cover.

Beef Curry Recipe Ingredients

* 500g rump steak
* 1 large potato
* 1 onion
* 1 capsicum
* 1 cup beef stock
* 1.5 dessertspoons of curry powder
* 0.5 teaspoons of fennel seeds
* 1 can roma tomatoes
* 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
* 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic (1 young organic garlic, or 2-3 large cloves of regular garlic)
* dash of soy sauce
* olive oil
* yoghurt
* rice (steamed)


First of all finely chop the onion, garlic, ginger and capsicum and brown gently in a little olive oil in a medium saucepan. And then dice the potato and steak into 0.75 cm cubes and add to the saucepan. Cover and cook for 10 mins on low heat.
Next is to Add the remaining ingredients and stir well, crushing the tomatoes with a spoon. Cover and cook on low heat for about an hour and a half, stirring occasionally.
Steam the rice (1.5 cups of rice, 2.5 cups of water, pinch of salt, microwave for 7 mins on 70% power and another 7 mins on 100%).
Uncover the curry and reduce over medium-high heat until thick.Serve on a bed of rice with a dollop of yoghurt....hmmm...great tasty beef curry ready to serve...enjoy !

Beef Curry Ingredients

    * 1 tbs vegetable oil
    * 4 brown onions, halved, thinly sliced
    * 3cm-piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely chopped
    * 2 garlic cloves, peeled
    * 1 tbs coriander seeds
    * 1 tbs garam masala
    * 1 tsp ground turmeric
    * 2 tsp sea salt flakes
    * 1kg lean casserole beef, cut into 2cm pieces, excess fat removed
    * 4 large fresh green chillies, thickly sliced
    * 5 vine-ripened tomatoes, halved, thinly sliced lengthways
    * 1 green capsicum, quartered, deseeded, thinly sliced
    * Low-fat natural yoghurt, to serve
    * Shredded fresh continental parsley leaves, to serve
    * Steamed basmati rice, to serve

Beef Curry Instructions

   1.First of all heat the oil in a large heavy-based saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes or until soft and golden brown.
   2.And then, place the ginger, garlic, coriander, garam masala, turmeric and salt in a mortar and gently pound with a pestle until a smooth paste forms. Add to the onion and cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until aromatic. Add the beef, chilli and three-quarters of the tomato and stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 1 1/4 hours or until beef is tender.
   3.Add the capsicum and remaining tomato to the beef mixture and cook, covered, for 15 minutes or until capsicum is tender.
   4.Divide curry among serving bowls. Top with yoghurt and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with steamed basmati rice...enjoy the tomato beef curry ! Nice and hot !

  • 100 g     minced beef
  • 1 medium     onion, chopped
  • 400 g     tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 clove(s)     garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp     olive oil
  • 1 tsp     cumin seeds

  • 400 ml     water

Beef Curry Instructions
First of all oil a large pan and add onion and cumin seeds. Heat slowly and stir. Add tomatoes and continue stirring. Cook until heated through.

And then oil a frying pan and add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add beef, turmeric, soy sauce and stir-fry. Transfer from the frying pan to the large pan.

Add water to the heavy pan and bring to a quick boil. Reduce heat when it boils and then cook on a simmer for 20 minutes. Add garam masala and season with a pinch of salt. and the minced beef curry is ready to serve..Enjoy it !

Try this basic beef curry recipe....a must try one !


* 500g beef
* 1 large brown onion
* 1 capsicum (bell pepper)
* 2 cloves of garlic
* 1 Tablespoon of curry powder
* 1 teaspoon of garam marsala
* a good splash of soy sauce (I insist on using a good quality brewed soy sauce like kikkoman’s)
* salt
* ground black pepper
* a pinch of Szechwan peppercorns
* some peanut oil
* 1 can of roma tomatoes
* a quantity of baby green beans (I used frozen ones)
* 1 teaspoon of lime picklesfor the Rice
* 1.5 cups of long grain (or Jasmine or Bas Mati) rice
* about 1 Tablespoon of palm sugar
* 2.5 cups of water
* pinch of salt

To make the Rice…

Place all the ingredients in a suitably sized casserole dish (with lid) and stir. Microwave at 50% for 22 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.

To make the Curry…

Heat the oil in a wok and add the finely diced capsicum and sliced onion. Stir frequently, adding the soy sauce, curry powder and garam marsala when the onion softens.
Slice the beef thinly and add to the wok. Stir through, and then add the tomatoes and lime pickles, salt, pepper and Szechwan peppercorns.
Simmer until reduced by a third, then add the finely chopped garlic and green beans. Continue to simmer, stirring as needed until reduced to at least half the original volume. The sauce should now be thick but not stodgy. If over-thick, add a little water, if too runny reduce further.
Serve on a bed of rice....the beef curry is ready to serve....nice and tasty !

Try this classic beef curry recipe...its sure tasty !

* 200ml olive oil
* 3 medium brown onions, finely sliced
* 1 large knob ginger, peeled, finely julienned or grated
* 4 garlic cloves, peeled and finely sliced
* 3 bay leaves
* 6 cardamom pods
* 2 tbsp coriander seeds
* 2 tbsp fennel seeds
* 2 tbsp cumin seeds
* Vegetable oil
* 1.5 kg oyster blade, trimmed of fat and cut into 8 even pieces
* 400g tinned tomatoes
* 1 litre beef stock
* Sea salt
* Freshly ground pepper

Preheat oven to 180C.
Heat the olive oil in a heavy-based saucepan. Add onions, ginger, garlic, bay leaf and cardamom pods. Season with salt and pepper and cook on medium heat until soft for about 20 minutes. Place seeds in baking tray and place in oven for 5 minutes or until fragrant and slightly toasted. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Grind to a fine powder in a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder. Sift into onion mix and cook a further 10 minutes.

Meanwhile heat a frying pan on high. Add a little vegetable oil. Season oyster blade with sea salt and pepper. Fry beef pieces in pan, a few at a time, so you don't lose too much heat and the meat ends up stewing. Fry until coloured well on sides. Remove to a paper towel. When all browned, add meat to onion mix with tomatoes and beef stock.Bring to the boil, skim and allow to simmer gently for approximately 2 hours, until the meat is tender and stock has thickened. Serve with rice or boiled potatoes, fresh coriander, yoghurt and your favourite chutney. And the great beef curry is ready to serves 4 great eaters ! Enjoy it !

* 800g Diced Lean Beef Steak
* 1 Cup/300ml Water or Beef Stock
* 2 Small white onions finely chopped
* 2 Teaspoons Ginger Puree
* 2 Teaspoons Garlic Puree
* 200g Butter Ghee
* 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
* 4 Teaspoons Mild Curry Powder
* Quarter Teaspoons Chilli Powder
* 2 Teaspoons Garam Masala Powder
* 200ml Yogurt
* 2 Tablespoons Tomato Puree
* 400ml Pureed Onion
* Roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves to garnish

Beef Curry Recipe INSTRUCTIONS

To make the Onion Puree, bring a small pan of water to the boil and add some chopped onions. Boil until soft, drain and puree with a hand blender or in a food processor. Freeze any extra you make for next time.

Pour the oil into a large saucepan bring up to a medium heat. Add the onions and reduce the heat to low. You can optionally add 1 or 2 Whole Star Anise which help bring out the sweetness of the onions and imparts a subtle aniseed flavour but remove them once the onions are cooked. Sweat the onions gently until they become translucent.

Make a paste of the ginger puree, garlic puree, curry powder, Turmeric powder, Chilli powder, with a little water. Add to saucepan and stir in well and fry for a couple of minutes.

Now add your 800g Diced Lean Beef Steak stir in well.

Mix the Yogurt, Tomato Puree, Onion Puree, together in a jug with the water or stock and pour into the saucepan and mix in well. Turn up the heat until the sauce begins to simmer and leave to simmer for 20 Minutes. Stir occasionally.

Finally sprinkle in the Garam masala and stir in well for the final 2 minutes of cooking. Garnish with the Roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves and the beef curry recipe is ready to serve...Nice ! Enjoy the beef curry !

Beef Curry Recipe INSTRUCTIONS

1. First thing you must do is to cut the steak into cubes discarding any fat and then toss it in the seasoned flour. Melt the butter in a large saucepan and brown the meat on all sides and then lift it out.

2. To the butter left in the pan add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is brown. Stir in the curry powder and flour and cook for 2 minutes and then add the chutney, sliced tomato, chopped apple and sliced banana and then season it with the salt and allspice.

3. Stir in the stock and lemon juice and bring to the boil. Return the browned meat to the saucepan. Cover and simmer the beef curry very gently for about 2 hours or until the meat is tender.
